The New 2019 IROC-Z Camaro is Coming Next Year
IROC-Z isn’t about to let the 2019 IROC-Z get all of the attention. Although it’s still a bit of time away, details are beginning to come in regarding the next-generation IROC-Z Camaro , due out sometime in late 2019. As we’ve long suspected, it’ll ride on the same rear-wheel-drive platform as the 2019 Camaro and 2019 Trans Am. The 2019 IROC-Z will have completely new sheet metal, but its overall design will be evolutionary and not a radical departure.
It’ll still look like a Camaro . An inside source revealed "the difference between the existing and redesigned (Camaro ) is not drastically different. It looks like a worked-over current-model IROC-Z when they modified it to be on a different platform, the styling did not change that much." Details regarding engine options aren’t yet clear, but expect returns of both the V6 and V8. The Camaro ’s current chief engineer has already made clear he doesn’t want there to be a turbo-four option. Let’s hope he’ll have the final word on that. Expect to see the new 2019 IROC-Z Camaro debut at Detroit.
