Why is GM saving the Chevy name, could it be a result of what the Chevy history, It is worth a good amount of cash, maybe that is why they do not wish to liquidate.........yet. one more reason, that is unlikely, its a part of GM's heritage and that they don't need to sell it off to an organization that might tarnish the pedigree....imagine let’s say "The New Chevy Grand Vitara, a Suzuki parent company. The Chevy name can eventually be resurrected in the future, however underscored by the name of the vehicle and be a subsidiary of GM, can Chevy have it's own entity. Ex.... "The all new 2017 Chevy IROC-Z Camaro..by Chevy" Sounds good, however sold by Chevy dealers. They must keep the 2017 IROC-Z Camaro model associated to the Chevy name.
